Not trading Faraday Future directly, but the move caught my attention from a futures perspective.. Stock ran ~80%+ on funding + robotics headlines, with heavy volume and fast sentiment shift. Typical microcap behavior, but what I’m more interested in is what this kind of move says about broader risk appetite. Usually when you see aggressive participation in high-beta, low-float names, it lines up with stronger risk on behaviour across the board especially in Nasdaq futures and small cap indices..

However, I wondering whether this kind of momentum is isolated or part of a broader shift in positioning. Lately it feels like these bursts of speculative activity show up right before or during short-term moves in index futures, especially when liquidity is thin. Not saying this is predictive on its own, but I do pay attention to when traders start chasing these kinds of names again. Btw, how do you guys watches this as a sentiment signal, or do you stick strictly to price action on futures and ignore this side completely?

    1. This market is completely detached. Just zoom out on FFAI and look at their cash burn rate, the dilutions in the past and their “product offerings”

That kind of spike usually matters less than whether the funding changes the underlying economics. I’d want to know if this is really improving revenue quality or just extending runway.
