I’m trying to confirm one specific thing from people who have actually done this.
I have an Amex Blue Cash Everyday card, and my landlord’s portal is Buildium. The portal lets me pay rent by credit card, with a 2.99% processing fee.
What I want to know is:
– Did the rent payment earn the usual 1% cash back?
– Did Amex give cash back on the processing fee too, or only on the rent amount?
– How did the transaction show up on your statement?
I’m looking for real data points from people who used Buildium + Amex BCE, not guesses.
Has anyone paid rent through Buildium with Amex Blue Cash Everyday?

I used this exact combo few months back when I was between apartments. The transaction showed up as just regular purchase on statement, got the 1% cashback on full amount including that processing fee.
Was actually surprised they didn’t code it differently but worked out nice since rent is such big expense anyway.
