      Use a broker but even if you weren’t driving for didn’t have a car you’re suppose to stay insured. Having a lapse is bad.

    2. You lost your ability to drive because you didnt abide by the state’s rules for owning a motor vehicle. They dont care if it wasnt being operated, it was still registered and therefore rules apply.

      And because you were careless, insurance companies don’t want to take you on as a high risk customer.

      Your best bet is to contact independent agents in your area to help shop. You will probably end up with a non-standard carrier and don’t expect it to be cheap.

      Holy hell is this law stupid. I get not wanting people to drive without insurance, but the suspensions cause so many needless problems. Get an insurance broker to find you a policy, and then call your state legislator and tell them about the catch-22.
