Credit Card/Builder for Low Income/ Benefits (UK – England)

I’m looking to get a credit card to help build my credit score. I’m currently 28 years old and have been working for the past 4-5 years, but recently had to leave my job due to health complications and rely on benefits for the time being. I expect to return to work in the near future.

My income has generally been low, and I’ve typically lived paycheck to paycheck, which is likely to continue for a while. Even so, I want to improve my credit score, which is currently just “okay.” I understand how credit cards work, but I’d appreciate recommendations for cards that are widely accepted and suitable for people with lower incomes, as well as any advice on good overall options.
