Recently turned 28 and finally started my career in healthcare last summer. Realized there’s a plethora of avenues to build wealth I wasn’t taught. I lack the financial literacy needed to thrive in California.
Now that I’m seeing actual income for the first time in my life it’s making me uncomfortable just seeing my money sit in my account.
I have no other accounts, no investments, no assets.
The only thing I’ve looked into so far is a certificate of deposit.
Where should I start?
Some additional info if it helps
Student loan debt ~35k
Projected to make ~80k
Not a homeowner but want to be within a few years
No car payment

Also you should check out the flow chart. Hopefully the bot comes along and links it.
EDIT: The bot didn’t link the flow chart fast enough for my liking so here’s the link. https://imgur.com/personal-income-spending-flowchart-united-states-lSoUQr2
You could just follow the flow chart for the rest of your life and you’d be good. There is definitely more to learn in the world of finances but the flow chart is an excellent starting point.
