My daughter and I became homeless over the weekend. Im new to this. Its scary. I lost the support system I had by doing the right thing. Im running into roadblocks. I do have a job. It doesn't pay enough for us to stay in a hotel. If I didn't have a savings we would be screwed. Im trying to save some for when I moved back home.
I need all the survival tips on how to save money, please. I already had to miss a week of work without pay.

You need to contact local support groups to discuss funding and support.
Contact shelters, social services, and churches.
Sorry you’re dealing with this. Start looking for local assistance right now. Steel yourself emotionally for a lot of bureaucratic runaround- that’s fine, that’s the cost of getting the help you need for you and your daughter. Don’t wait until you’re down to your last nickel.
If daughter is school age, there may be an “at risk” coordinator who can help with logistics and things for your daughter at school. You may qualify for TANF or SNAP (if you’re in the US). Go to the food pantry- you need every dollar you can to save for a hotel or down payment
Those are the biggest “tips”- get started aggressively finding all the benefits you can qualify for.
Try YWCA in your nearest big town or city
Check airbnb for rooms instead of hotels. They will have a secure lock on the bedroom just like a hotel but are much cheaper even with fees.
Can I ask what state you were in?
Call 211 or 211.org. They have alllll the resources.
Airbnb.
Rent a rooms on Facebook.
You can find a room for $750 in any city in america, with mkst cities this being a master bedroom.
Done.
You need to Google “Homeless women support [LOCATION]”
Your town/county may have services as well.
Your daughters school also may have resources.
