This case pops up every now and again. And, hey, now it has new AI imagery, neat. These cases have popped up over the decades.
For anybody interested, the people (there were at least 3 documented) who were missing 80-90% of useful brain volume were leading “normal” lives in the sense that they could eat, talk, and move around, but they weren’t exactly considered smart. They had minimal education and typically had trouble reading and interacting with the world.
The most recent one referenced here (article in the 2007 Lancet) had an estimated IQ of around 80 and held a civil servant job in France. He also had a wife and two kids – putting him well ahead of most of the people on this sub officially in every category.
