I went to college 20 years ago, didn’t graduate due to some crazy life stuff, and honestly got caught up in life and almost forgot I had loans. Recently I looked into going back to school, and when I started my FAFSA I discovered I have $80,000 in student loan debt 😱

What the heck do I do now? I could possibly cash pay for school if I could also get scholarships or grants but that amount about made me shit my pants.

I am restarting life in my 40s after an over decade long relationship crashed out and ruined me financially and career wise. I definitely don’t have the means to start repaying this. I feel like an idiot for letting it go this long and not even realizing it.

I’m fairly financially savvy and reading up on the options, but I’d love some input if anyone has any. Do I ignore it? Try to consolidate?

    Any advice is appreciated!!!

I am in shock right now, any advice appreciated

Pay it off, you owe it. You do not need food or healthcare if you owe student loans.

That long ago without any wage garnishment? Personally I would act like it doesnt exist and not fill out the FAFSA
