I have tremendous trusts on wallets because its math foundation. But today, something happened and I am a little in doubt. Today, when i try to restore my wallet using seed phrase, I accidentally made a mistake, but I ended up restoring another wallet that is not mine. Even though there is no any coin in it, it casts a doubt on wallet’s safety. What if someone who created the wallet has put coins in it? What are the chances that someone else accidentally restore mine?

Just genuinely questions from a long time hodler. I hope I get answers that resolve me concerns

    Are wallets really safe??

All wallets has existed since the bitcoin protocol was defined. Nothing to worry about.

Every wallet “exists” for every combination of seed words. But they have nothing in them unless they are in use. You’re not going to find one that’s in use.

    3. I suggest doing more research on how wallets work. You mention knowing the math behind how wallets work, the chance of someone else restoring that new wallet you just created are so small it’s basically impossible.

Does the wallet you restored have any previous transactions? Probably not because it has never been used before, just like any other wallet you make.

What?? How do you know it was someone else’s wallet if it had no coins in it? You entered in the incorrect passphrase, of course it’s going to go to an empty wallet.

    5. It’s hard to wrap your head around the number of combinations of seed words that are possible. You could safely have every person on earth trying to guess your seed phrase once a second for their entire lives and probably never find your wallet or any others that have coins in them.
