I currently have the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Amex Blue Cash Preferred (among others but these two are my workhorses), but after a few thoughts, I am reconsidering my combo. I am the type of person that has a lot cards and want to maximize my points as much as possible. I have my grocery card, my dining card, my gas card, my streaming card. But I just want to simplify things as much as possible.

This idea also coincides with living with my partner and splitting bills (mostly dining and grocery). I got us our own BoA so that we don't have to think about who owes what. But that card maxes pretty quickly.

I also am thinking more about what companies I want to support and Chase and BoA are not companies I want to support. Amex isn't perfect but its better than them.

    Here are my ideas.

Keeping the Blue and replacing the Chase Sapphire Preferred with the Amex Green. I would put our grocery bills on the Blue and use the Green for my personal dining out, my general spending, and our joint dining out.

Replacing both with the Amex Gold and putting everything on it. That yearly fee is scary for me though.

A couple of things about me:

I don't make a lot of money, just $65k, and the Gold feels out of my tax bracket for it to be useful.

I fly only a couple of times a year. Usually one domestic flight and one International. And I like to use my points as a way to unintentionally save for a big trip each year.

Adding to or replacing my current Chase Sapphire Preferred + Amex Blue Cash Preferred combo
