I have been an entrepreneur for more than 10 years now, and I still get cold hands when I am about to do any sort of public speaking, or going into an important business meeting. I dread shaking hands with people. Does anyone else have anxiety-induced cold hands? How do you deal with it?

Yeah, I get that before high-stakes stuff too. Not always hands specifically, but same kind of physical response.

What helped me was treating it like a timing thing instead of trying to eliminate it. I noticed it peaks right before the interaction, then drops once I’m actually in it. So I started building a short buffer, like moving around a bit, quick walk, even just clenching and unclenching hands to get blood flow going.

Also sounds basic, but warming them up right before helps more than expected. Even just holding a warm drink for a minute.

I never fully got rid of it, but once I stopped fighting it and just managed it, it became way less of a distraction.

      Of course, it’s natural.

I just try to get some positive interactions before going into whatever the important thing is.

Like having a quick friendly chat with someone, laughing a little..

I carry this positive momentum on into the big important thing and then I usually get calm and confident really quickly, which also makes me sharp and focused.
