Got this dreaded email that I didn't know was a thing yesterday:

    "A note on your spending

Over the last few months, your usage of the Gold Card has included substantial amounts of business services spending. We wanted to take a moment to remind you that the Gold Card is meant for personal expenses only.

As we mention in our terms1, rewards can be restricted for using the card for non-personal expenses. Which is why, for the rest of the calendar year any further spending on business services will earn 1 point per dollar spent."

So yes, I used the card to pay for a $30,000 renovation on my home this month, which in my opinion is a personal expense, but whatever. My big question was, what are they considering "business services spending"? I got the card last November and I tied all of my personally monthly bills to the card and going to be annoyed if I have to migrate everything to another card.

Well one of those monthly bills is my USAA vehicle insurance, not for a business vehicle, but just a personal vehicle, and I saw that it is down to 1%. Did they just brick the card for me?

Right around the time I got this RHG card, the US Bank Smartly card was nerfed. So annoyed to have to keep migrating my monthly bills over to the highest rewards multiple times a year. Wish they would just be clear and say you get 3% cash back on up to $X0,000 amount of spending per year.

RHG Reduced "Business Services Spending" to 1% for Rest of Year, which for some reason includes my Personal USAA Vehicle Insurance?
