Do we have any transparency into recruitment numbers? I wonder if they are seeing numbers dip?
Not really sure what else would prompt this .

So Trump barely clears the recruitment goal, which has been met regularly for the last 3-4 years since the covid troubles. He calls it in “terminal decline” because he got to hand off the real work, and now we’re sitting here looking at his admin scrable to a get congress to throw him a 50% increase in total US military spending, when he’s barely meeting our standards, to go die in some desert half way across the world?
The same draft dodger who asked his general at his veteran son’s grave, “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?”
Anybody got any jokes?

The military doesn’t get enough funding to pay troops for combat deployment. Maybe we should give them some more money to misappropriate on anything and everything except soldier salaries and benefits?
I have an even better idea; why don’t we print money and distribute it to a PMC overseen by Jared Kushner? Surely he will demonstrate strong oversight and governance of, say, I don’t know… let’s call it $500bn?

Combat pay was always kind of a joke. It’s currently $225 per month. Doubling it is still not going to have much financial impact on anyone’s life.

So they want to double pay for troops. They want $200B additional funding for Iran war and defense budget increase to $1.5 trillion.
Where and how will they get this money without giving a giant middle finger to everyone else in the country?

Caligula was beloved by the legions, he always made sure they were paid above and before all other draws on the Treasury
We really are speed running the fall of empire aren’t we. People don’t realize just how much turmoil comes before the end
