Netflix subscription is expensive, especially since I do not like majority of the movies/shows on it , but there is occassionally that one odd show/movie I like to watch on it .

So I let my watchlist stack up for 3 to 6 months and then purchase a the subscription for a single month when I have holidays and work load is less.

That is my frugality tip 🙂 I hope subscription services give us an option to make it seasonal instead of monthly/annual . At the moment, I have to manage all this myself.

    1. At about $8 a month, there are enough old movies and shows to watch something everyday. I record and watch stuff to skip the ads.

Your plan would work for AMC+, that has one show I liked, Daryl Dixon the Walking Dead spin off. When season Four ends, one month of AMC+ please.

I do the same. Especially at the moment because I’m reading a lot more, I just cancel my Netflix for a few months and sign back up when there’s enough new shows/seasons that I wanna watch.

+1 also do this strategy basically for all the streaming platforms.

I was in your exact same position starting in 2013. I would sign up for a month then let it go for 4 or 5 months before I signed up for another month, then the next time I waited 6 or 7 months. I think it was 2018 when I got it the last time and could not find a single show I wanted to watch to the end. I haven’t had it since then and never missed it. We did get acorn TV once last year to watch some BBC shows, but even that wasn’t worth it for more than a month. I’ve gotten out of the habit of watching tv and see no reason to pay money to get back into it.

I dig the strategy but if it’s like that, just 🏴‍☠️
