This is exactly why Canada should not be so eager to sign a trade deal with the United States. It’s not worth the paper it’s written on, it’s subject to the random whims and lies of Donald Trump.

It is really unfortunate that other countries didn’t take the opportunity to join Canada and China in hitting back at the US with counter-tariffs early on. A proper global economic dogpile would have sorted this nonsense for good a year ago.
