    1. Either sell those things and buy them at you new location, or rent a truck for the move.

Edit: Just read tour question more fully. If you don’t want to move them yourself you will need to utilize a service like PODS, or the UHaul drop off containers that they drop off and pick up.

I don’t recommend it unless you have more stuff.

      It ain’t cheap.

Honestly unless any of that furniture is sentimental or valuable, I’d just sell it or give it away before you move. The cost of renting a truck or pod or shipping just a few items of furniture will most likely end up way more than the cost of just replacing the items when you get to TX.

Don’t plan to live without a car for very long in TX. There is very little public transportation here and outside of specific parts of major cities, it can be very difficult to get around and just do the daily activities of living like getting to the grocery store, pharmacy, etc without a car.

Alot of the options depend on your budget and how much stuff. There are moving companies you can pay to do that and some will even pack you up and meet you there. But heads up, they can be on the pricier side. Think 2-3k. If you dont have alot of things you can always sell them and buy diff stuff when you move down. Of course you can always rent a Uhaul and pack it up and bring it down as well. You can see places that will let you drop it off while down here and you pay based on miles and whatnot.

I just moved from NY to texas but I didn’t care for most my things and just bought new once I was here. So it all depends on budget and time frame.

You mean you haven’t decided this together? I’d be very wary to uproot myself for someone who left it up to me whether to move with them. Or am I misreading this?

These are good comments. Im in a similar situation and think i wil sell and get rid of a lot of my cheap furniture before moving.
