Gas prices expected to climb as global oil prices hit 4-year-high

    As we head into the weekend, there will be more pain at the pumps with yet another price hike Friday as global oil prices reached a four-year high — all connected to the conflict in the Middle East.

    The federal government scrapped the excise tax, but as Heidi Petracek reports, the relief has been brief and prices are likely to keep rising.

    1. it's bad enough when a Shell gas station in Sylvan Lake, Alberta is price gouging ! It's $1.69/L on the highway south of Red Deer where gas prices are higher for the convenience but in Sylvan lake this Shell station is charging $1.82/L
      People can't afford this illegal price gouging. Hell, we're struggling to pay for food now having to deal with this too

    2. This senseless war in the Middle East caused oil prices to spike, and from there gas prices are going up, and as a result inflation will rise exponentially. If oil were to hit the $200 range, that would cause an immense economic shock, worldwide. There would be hyperinflation, which will be even worse. The senseless war in the Middle East is causing so much death and destruction, and that's not good to begin with. The ripple effects are here, and it's good question as to when the senseless war in the Middle East will stop. Even if the war in the Middle East did stop, the adverse affects of it, will not be reversed.
