I'll have ~$10-$12K of purchases to make in the next few months and would like to open a new card to capture a good SUB.
Details below:
- Current cards: (list cards, limits, opening date)
- Chase Freedom ($32K, PC 6/24 from original CSR which was opened 2018)
- Chase INK Preferred ($6K, 2023)
- Chase Marriott Boundless ($20K, 2/24)
- Chase Sapphire Reserve ($30K, 6/24)
- Chase British Airways ($15K, 9/24)
- FICO Score: 800
- Oldest account age: 2018 for Chase; longer for BofA but I don't use that card
- Chase 5/24 status: 2/24
- Income: $200K
- Average monthly spend and categories:
- dining $300
- groceries: $600
- travel: $500-$1000
- gas: $0
- I don't think I have any crazy spending categories — groceries are probably the highest aside from random shopping and travel when I have the occasional trips
- Open to Business Cards: yes
- What's the purpose of your next card?
- Just moved, about to have some big ticket purchases and would like to put it on a new card with a worthy SUB
- Do you have any cards you've been looking at?
- I was originally eyeing the Amex Gold and/or Platinum based on prior feedback from this subreddit, but haven't been able to get the max SUB offers even with personal referrals + using incognito windows 🙁 I'm unwilling to use my lifetime bonuses on a paltry 60K offers (I don't remember what the plat offer was, but it was bad too).
- Considering the Venture X but was thinking it might have too much overlap to the CSR.
- Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? fine with either; right now the CSR is my default card
TIA for any ideas/recs!
Recommend me my next [non-Amex] card!
