I got in a minor car accident a year ago (my fault). Not much damage, still perfectly drivable- just became one of those tasks that "i'll get around to it".
I filed the claim the day of the accident. $1100 via the photo estimate. I have a $500 deductible, so Geico sent me $600.
So I made an appointment with Caliber collision (who works with geico).
I know I will owe the $1100 ($600 from geico + $500 deductible). But what happens if there is more damage and they bill, say, $5k? For example, the original photo estimate did not include the broken headlight bracket. Since this claim is so old, will Geico still pay the excess above $1100?
I am in Tennessee, if that matters.
