Hey everyone,
I’m trying to understand how property investment works in Europe, especially if the long-term goal is residency and eventually citizenship.
The idea I have in mind is:
- invest in property in a European country
- rent it out (long-term or short-term like Airbnb)
- manage it properly, even if I’m not living there full-time at the start
- and over time, qualify for residency → then eventually citizenship
I’ve been looking into countries like Portugal, Spain, and Greece, but I’m a bit confused about what actually works right now since I’ve heard a lot of the “Golden Visa” rules have changed recently.
What I’m trying to figure out:
- Which countries still offer property investment → residency pathways
- How realistic it is to manage rental property
- Typical investment ranges to get started
- And what the real path to citizenship looks like (timeline, requirements, whether you need to live there full-time, etc.)
Would really appreciate any advice or experiences 🙏
