So, I'm a Georgia resident who's about to graduate soon and start college in the fall. I plan to study aviation management at the only in-state school that offers the degree, which is Middle georgia State University. Luckily, I'm still currently eligible for the GA Hope scholarship, which will cover my base academic tuition. The only thing, though, is that I still need funds for room+board. For this school, it'll cost around 9-10k to equal around 40k in potential loans without interest. My biggest concern rn is that I have no job or personal income and may not have a cosigner, which could negatively impact me a lot. They do have an online option to wipe away the food+board cost, but I'm not sure if it's too late to switch to that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

As a dependent first year student you can borrow up to $5.5k in federal student loans. Plan on coming up with the remaining $4k through student earnings.
Some schools offer a discount on housing for students in a “forced triple” aka 3 students are in a room designed for two. Worth investigating.
If you can’t come up with the $4k (about $2k per semester) you will either need to take the remote option or defer enrollment for a semester or a year.
Its not worth it. Further, if you don’t have a cosigner its probably not even an option.
The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) recently published an article indicating about 40% of Americans wouldn’t even qualify for private student loans. Are Federal Loans an option for your program? Working while attending?
