My husband and I recently switched auto insurance providers as the one we were with would not provide a homeowners policy for our new home. Our 24yo son is also on our policy, and when the quote was provided, it showed all 3 of us getting the good driver discount. I asked the agent if they checked the records because our son had an accident just over a year ago, and they told us that both CLUE and MVR showed the accident, but that it was not a chargeable accident and there were no injuries, so he didn’t have any points on his record. We were surprised, but not knowing how the points system worked, we didn’t question it further. Now, the insurance company is asking for proof that he wasn’t at fault, which of course we cannot provide. We’re just trying to find out why both CLUE and MVR would show that he wasn’t at fault before we respond to the company’s request. Any insight would be appreciated!
