I’ve got a couple missed payments on my credit cards plus a few accounts that ended up in collections, and I’m finally trying to deal with it instead of ignoring it. Most of this came from falling behind on a couple cards last year, and now it’s all hitting at once. Late payments, collections, lower score and I know it’s going to mess with getting approved for better cards down the line.

I’ve been reading a lot but it’s honestly confusing because everyone says something different. Some people say handle collections first, others say leave them alone and focus on your current cards. Then there’s stuff about disputing things, or using tools like Dovly or Dispute Beast, but I’m not sure if that’s something you do right away or later.

Trying to fix missed credit card payments and collections where do I even start?

man dealing with collections stuff is such a mess. I went through similar situation last year when my finances got really bad and everything just piled up at once

Start with your current cards first – get those current and stay current because new late payments hurt way more than old ones. For collections you can try calling them directly and ask for payment plan or settlement but dont admit the debt is yours right away on phone. Some of those dispute services can help but they pretty expensive for what they do
