Attempting to diy and buying an alternative is cheaper

I was gifted and above ground pool. It's deep. I have been collecting random things people are throwing out to make a platform. I was going to buy one sheet of pvc plastic. It's like $100… I can buy a floating dock on amazon for the same price.

I know I have to buy more than just that sheet of plastic. Maybe a couple things for the stairs or the bottom of the platform So it doesn't rip the liner.

I think I'm just more frustrated that i've collected quite a bit And can't figure out how to repurpose the plastic pieces. The underwater pump I can use to circulate water around on the bottom. The amazon buy won't be as cool sitting just below the water line with fountain in it but I also won't get in the way of the pool vaccume, It'll be easier to set up and I won't have to worry at about it ripping the liner.
