Basically the title: Are there any US issuers who still issue credit cards where PIN is the primary verification method (e.g. if you insert the card, the box will prompt you for a PIN and not signature)?
Back when chip cards first got started, we had several issuers: Target (REDcard MasterCard), some Barclays cards, and at least a few credit unions (First Tech, Spokane Teachers, State Department). Now, they have all dropped it.
It's definitely not as important as it used to be, especially since tap-to-pay on a phone is much more widespread and doesn't throw the "gotta sign on paper" prompts overseas like it used to. This is mostly a curiosity at this point.
Are there any remaining PIN-primary chip-and-PIN credit cards from US issuers?

I think most US issuers switched back to chip-and-signature because merchants were complaining about PIN prompts slowing down checkout lines. My credit union still had chip-and-PIN few years ago but they dropped it too
Really miss having PIN as primary since it was so much cleaner when traveling in Europe where everyone expects you to know your PIN
I’m not sure how frequently it gets updated, but [EMV CVM Database](https://www.spotterswiki.com/emv/cardsearch.php) is in this sub’s sidebar and shows dozens of PIN-first cards, plus the easiest one (Apple Card, “1: No CVM required”).
What merchant do you still get prompt for signature? I do tap to pay, and it’s never asked for a signature.
