Active duty members get the yearly fees waived on Amex platinum cards. That’s honestly the first one that came to mind.
$700 annual card and all the benefits it comes with for people who travel frequently are definitely worth considering.
If you’re willing to build up a setup of multiple cards over time then the AmEx Green would be good to get while your travel category spend is high, followed by the Gold, then the Platinum, then the Schwab Platinum (which can replace the Platinum), and the Blue Business Plus at any point that you get an elevated offer for it. In that order because AmEx has family language that prevents you from getting bonuses on lower tier cards once you get a higher tier one. 40k + 100k + 175k + 75k = 390k points from sign-up bonuses alone.
If it has to be simple then the Chase Sapphire Reserve + Navy Federal cashRewards+. Flights, hotels, rental cars, dining, and anything that the annual statement credits cover go on the Sapphire, everything else on the NFCU card.
