Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Amex Gold, Venture, Sapphire Preferred
Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? Im okay with both

    More Info:
Recently applied to the Amex Gold and i was accepted with an offer of 60,000 membership points if i spend 8000 in six months. I would not be able to meet that offer as i work part time in college and i do not spend enough to reach the cost of 8000.

I really want the card because a lot of my money i spend goes to food which would gets 4x points and i want to start saving up points so i can travel in the future.

Im not sure if i should get the card or if I should apply to other cards that would benefit me better. If you have any advice or recommendations i would greatly appreciate it.

Should I get the Amex Gold as my second credit card if I cant meet the welcome offer?

No, you don’t have the income or spending to justify a card like that. Look into something like the Capital One Savor card. No AF and gets 3% on dining, groceries, and entertainment (including streaming services).

It’s a painfully bad idea to open a $325 card with $22k income, especially when you admittedly can’t spend enough to make it worthwhile.

Open the Savor card instead, if you absolutely have to have another card.
