Everybody loves to see positive earnings reports. But are they ever so positive to the point where people are reluctant to question them? Seems the better they are the more they are celebrated and less scrutinized.

How legitimate has this recent round of earnings calls been?

And also anybody remember or were holding shares of say FTAI in Jan. 2025 or SMCI in Aug. 2024 to instantly see share prices plummet over 30% because of accounting irregularities?

The SEC has had a further and further hands-off approach of late. They even most recently proposed changing rules of quarterly reporting to only requiring semi-annual reporting. What a great idea to help with investor transparency!

Now let's also take into account how much better companies have gotten at manipulating their own earnings reports, even utilizing AI now to help do so.

So how legitimate is this recent round of earnings beats? It's concerning having witnessed first hand what accounting irregularities can do to a single company's share prices. But what if this behavior is far more widespread? What if it's market-wide? What would be the consequence of its being uncovered?

    Earnings Beats!!! Cool, right?
