As costs are going higher, I am continually thinking of ways to counter act this. I am constantly adjusting the thermostat depending on whether I get too cool. Hot already in New Orleans. I am getting better at watching my grocery receipts as I was charged for two items at Walmart but only purchased one. Also, I am trying to use washable containers to store food in the freezer instead of buying freezer bags and utilizing or freezing any leftovers. Food combinations may get interesting. Omelets are a great way of incorporating leftovers. In addition, I have taken up pants and blue jeans as I have been losing weight instead of buying new ones. Also, I try to repair most things if it can be glued or sewn like my under bed fabric storage containers. What are some ways that you are trying to do to combat this economy?
What are you doing to save money in this economy?

I was washing clothes and saw my boxers had a giant hole in the crotch. I thought to myself “still good”, folded it up and put it away
What’s up New Orleans fam.
Honestly the only thing for me is getting more work. I freelance on the side and say yes to just about everything while trying to keep my costs as low as possible. Using rebate and coupon apps, making sure I’m getting a good rate on my savings account, and not letting The Man keep me down.
I am staying tf home lol. Not going to events, paying for parking, not using gas. I walk Aldi when I need food. Not buying anything right now, really. This NOLA heat makes the AC a nonnegotiable for me, though. Hope that Entergy is kind to me this month! 😩
Eating less meat.

Mending and altering, going to reusable over disposable, and I’ve pretty much entirely cut meat out of my diet unless I score it cheap at Aldi.
Replace cars with ebikes
Vegan diet with no convenience foods
Kanopy and Hoopla for free streaming
I’m limiting my trips to save on gas and I’m being smarter about errands to plan more efficient gas usage. I don’t eat out much at all but even that part of my budget has been cut back. I’m paying very close attention to grocery stores and “shopping my pantry”, stocking up on sale items and making more vegetarian meals like chili and curries. I’ve cut back to one streaming service that I prepaid last year, using podcasts, Kanopy and books from my library much more for entertainment. Costco has been my go-to for clothing since finding clothes in my size in thrift stores is tough (and Costco prices oftentimes can match or beat my local thrifts). I switched from paper towels to using microfiber cloths and cotton bar rags, which has really reduced my paper towel usage.
Frozen fruits for me are a great way to buy and eat fruit for cheaper. Even when it may be around the same price, the fact that it doesn’t go back in a week is saving money. I’ll usually make smoothies in the morning packed with things like protein powder, chia seeds, peanut butter, etc. very yummy and filling.
WFH
No cafe coffee
Switched from ATT to Mint Mobile. Buying LOTS of manager’s specials at Kroger.
Just working on stuff, meal prepping. Working on the house.
