So far as I can tell, Taco is offering release of oversees funds in exchange for a 12 year nuclear deal.

BUT he is also ceding control of the straits for an indefinite period. Basically throwing in the towel on control of the Straits.

Unless I am missing something there is zero chance the straits actually open before June.

    1. He’s offering an almost Identical JPCOA that Obama had implemented. The wording on most points looks copy/pasted. It’s gotta be a fucking joke tbh. If it is signed the US will be in a worse position than 2015 and it should be a nail in Trump’s coffin if people had two brain cells anymore. Iran already had the chance to offload their enriched uranium to Russia and opted to hold it. Now that they control the Straight why would they ever think about actually signing this. Just when I think things couldn’t get any more wacky this clown show administration proves me wrong.

    2. I m pretty sure Iran would gradually open the flow if there was a deal, and I anticipate any toll deal to be temporary and phased out as sanctions are lifted.

UAE planned for this. Habshan-Fujairah pipeline bypasses Hormuz entirely, moves ~1.8 Mbpd to Gulf of Oman terminals. ADNOC kept loading. Who else has that redundancy?

And all those people said his multiple bankruptcies didn’t matter. Like it wasn’t an indication of his ineptitude which was washed over by that silver spoon he was born with.
