So I recently signed up for the CSR to take advantage of the 150k SUB. I'll have no problem hitting that. My plan was to eat the $795AF and come out $700 ahead from a pure 1x standpoint.
But the more I think about it the more I could get value from the first year to offset the $795. My question is would the following make sense, and it revolves around my SO's birthday. We typically do a big NYC trip mid July (show, dinner, one night hotel). Curious if the following makes sense:
Stub hub
Purchase one ticket with the $150 credit this month or next. Wait until July to get the next $150 credit and purchase a seat nearby for the same show same date. I assume just using the card I'll be the $150 as a statement credit and I should get both covered.
Open Table
Harder but I would try to be a little picky and use these credits if possible. May or may not happen
Global Entry
We both travel a lot. I have global entry through my venture x, but they don't. I assume they could sign up, and at registration payment use my card, and get the fee covered, correct? Essential global entry as a gift for them would be the goal. And would that be covered for 4 years even if I cancel the CSR?
$300 Travel credit
My question would be when does this hit? I would like to use in July ideally but if I remember correctly it's at annual renewal? So if that's the case I won't be able to use it this first year?
So really use a lot of the credits for this one trip would be my goal ideally.
Are the 150,000 points redeemable only through the chase travel portal or can they be redeemed as cash/credit as well? My assumption is that they can be used to "erase" or cover purchases that are in the travel category?
Thanks!

the $300 travel credit resets at your cardmember anniversary, not calendar year, so you’d get it right when you’re approved and then again next year. perfect timing for your july trip actually.
for global entry – yeah you can pay for your SO’s application with your card and get reimbursed, and they keep the benefits even if you cancel later. the 4-year membership stays valid regardless of your card status.
those chase points are pretty flexible – you can redeem through their portal at 1.5x value, transfer to partners, or just cash them out at 1 cent each if you want to keep things simple.
stubhub: yes
open table: you can look up included restaurants without having an CSR right now.
global entry: yes, you can pay for someone else’s. Global entry validity is independent of having the credit card.
$300 travel credit: you can use it immediately. it’s statement credit.
150k points can be used as points or cash back. Points redemption through transfer partners are generally recommended on this sub, but yes you can use it as statement credit.
