I’m new to disability about 2/3 months in. I need insurance. I have doctor’s appointments that I’m struggling to pay. I live in Georgia and according to disability; Medicare doesn’t kick in until almost two years. According to marketplace insurance I don’t qualify to be covered by them. Not enough coming in. And according to Medicaid I don’t qualify for them or something called pathways. I don’t know what else to do. Any advice/help would be appreciated.

    1. I’m a licensed insurance agent in Georgia, but I primarily work in property & casualty and am not a health insurance specialist.

Unfortunately, I can’t accurately assess your eligibility for Medicaid, Marketplace subsidies, or Medicare timing based on just this post, and those programs can be very situation-specific.

It may be helpful to speak with a licensed health insurance agent who regularly works with the ACA Marketplace/Medicaid system, or a local benefits counselor who can review your full situation and documentation. You can also try contacting Georgia Medicaid or a community health center for guidance on potential coverage or sliding-scale care options.

I am sorry you are dealing with this, these coverage gaps can be really difficult to navigate without direct assistance.
