I just got my Robinhood Gold recently and I'm so surprised I don't see more talk about the way they handle virtual cards. This is the future! I'd pay the membership fee again just to have this feature on the rest of my cards. It's so quick and easy to use. On top of security and privacy you can even use it to organize all your spending and keep track of how much you spend on what, all with basically 0 effort. I'm more excited about this than I am about the 3% cash back. Are there other banks doing this and I'm just missing something? I haven't seen this anywhere else, at least not with the simplicity and feature-richness that Robinhood has here.

Robinhood Gold virtual card system seriously needs to become industry standard

yeah this virtual card system is really something else. i’ve been using it for few months now and it’s wild how much easier it makes tracking subscriptions and online purchases. before this i had spreadsheets trying to figure out which service was charging what amount

the way you can just generate new card for each merchant is brilliant – when that sketchy website you bought something from gets breached, you just delete that specific virtual card instead of having to replace your whole physical card. happened to me twice already this year and saved so much hassle

other banks have virtual cards but they’re usually buried in menus or you can only make like 2-3 at time. the instant generation here and being able to set spending limits per card is chef’s kiss. my grocery budget card can’t accidentally get used for impulse amazon purchases anymore

really hope other companies steal this idea because once you get used to this level of control, going back to regular cards feels primitive

      I love the virtual cards.

I also love how you can get the cash back immediately and not at the end of the billing cycle.

Are you referring to the Free Trial Card? There are a few places that already do virtual cards. I use the Free Trial on a regular basis!

Capital One and Citi have offered virtual cards for years, but their interfaces look like they were built during the Bush administration. Robinhood just bought the X1 card’s tech and rebranded their slick UI. If you want this exact tracking and security across all your current accounts without paying Robinhood’s monthly fee, just use Privacy.com.
