I was in an accident in Oct 2025. I was leaving a drive thru and driving down the aisle of the parking lot when a kid rammed into the side of my car. He was backed into his spot so all he had to do was pull forward, so obviously he wasn’t looking. I hit my head and had wrist pain but I declined an ambulance because it was my first accident and I was super shocked, so I didn’t even realize I was hurting until I calmed down. When I got out, like 5 kids got out of his truck and all left in different vehicles. They were making jokes about how he wouldn’t get his new hellcat now because of the accident. They were standing there laughing. It was humiliating. We exchanged info and his dad tried to get me to settle without insurance, but I didn’t fall for that. I ended up going to the ER that same day to be checked out and my bill was $11,000. I had a head CT and xrays for my wrist. For almost 90 days they avoided mine and their insurance, the dad claimed he had no recollection of an accident. The insurance wouldn’t accept fault because they couldn’t determine who was at fault. Eventually they realized that there was no possibility of me being at fault and they accepted fault. My car wasn’t taken to a shop until December because I would’ve had to pay out of pocket. I got my car back in January but there was $6,500 worth of damage, insurance took care of it thankfully. I was out of a vehicle for that entire time because it wasn’t drivable due to where I was hit. Would it be too much to ask for $15,000? I don’t want to have to get lawyers involved. Their insurance offered me $2,500-3,000 but I declined and I’ve been collecting my bills to submit for proof of suffering.

    What is my settlement worth?

There are far too many unknown things here to say. You can ask for whatever you want. Are you done treating?

you don’t have documented injuries worth more than $1200-$1500 based on dozens of posts on this site.

Just get a lawyer to assess you situation, which you should have done very soon after the accident happened. Inquiring here only delays the process even more. Get a personal injury attorney. They advertize all over the place.

This largely depends on where you are/where this happened. In most states, the medical bills can and are reduced. If this is just ER, the “pain and suffering” part of the claim is generally worth $500-2,000 but like I said, location really matters.

    5. How much is it worth or how much can you get? Every state is different with different statutes and insurance coverages. I agree for a simple case, there’s no reason to get an attorney just for them to take 33%.

Gather all of your medical bills, pictures of the accident, any lost wages, and any receipts for services you had to hire (broken arm, can’t mow the lawn, so you hired a company). Then look up the statutes in your state for any additional payment above medical bills. For example, my state requires a certain level of injury. Then write a demand for the number you want. If that’s $15k and you can justify it, great. They may try to talk you down. You can say no. It’s not a guarantee you’ll get what you want, but it’s worth a try.

What about your insurance m, what have they said? You haven’t mentioned them in any of this.
