Both of us were backing out of our spots when we collided. He was at fault because we started our roll first but we didn't suffer any damage and don't plan to make a claim but he didn't stop. Should I still file a police report? His vanity plate makes it really easy to ID.

Police report worth it for damage free hit and run?

      No.

You start out with one problem, you want to call the government to help you fix it, or cover your butt, then all of a sudden you have two problems.

No, not worth it. The police will do nothing, particularly since it was on private property and there was no damage.

Also, if you were both backing out, you both share fault.

A lot of damage is unseen, but if it was a true bump or tap I would not involve insurance potentially raising your premiums over something cosmetic.

My ex was involved in a little no damage bump. Both parties went on their way. Two years later she found out that she had a warrant for her arrest. We had moved to another county so they never contacted her. The other lady decided she could make some easy cash and called the cops later that day. My ex went in to speak to the police and give her side. They told her that the other lady was trying to scam. The damage she showed them looked old and couldn’t have been done by my exes car.
