I submitted my final payment yesterday. I rode out the SAVE forbearance throughout the litigation, but I got tired of being yanked around. I spent the last eighteen months putting every extra dollar towards my loans, and now Iām done.
Despite paying my full debt, Iām still in support of debt relief for borrowers and lower education costs for future students.

Congratulations!
I also owed 80k. I made no payments during covid, waited through the SCOTUS forgiveness decision, and made my last 22k payment right before interest resumed from the covid forbearance a couple years ago.
There was no better feeling than that of being done with an era.
