Hi everybody, so I’m going to start going to college this fall. I really want to major in elementary education because that has been my biggest dream since middle school. Work will likely be my entire life as I most likely will not get married or have my own family, which is why I really want to major and study something I am passionate about.
I’m going to start off at a community college and transfer to a university after 2 years. The university I plan on going transferring to is private, its costs 40k a year but I applied this year just to see and they gave me a scholarship of 21k per year.
So basically after I transfer, I would need to take out about 38k out of student loans for my junior and senior years, maybe even more.
So I wanted to ask is this a good idea? Pls give your honest opinions and I’m open to different suggestions for majors and stuff since I’m basically still undecided. Thanks!!

Is it worth it to take out 40K in student loans to become a teacher?

are there no cheaper schools? if at all possible I would avoid taking out student loans entirely. find a cheaper good school, work for money when you’re not doing homework and dump every cent into tuition or loans. dont let them linger. expensive private schools are not worth it. read any story on this sub if you need motivation not to take out student loans
