Edward Snowden – “Joe Rogan Was Right About Bitcoin…” | WARNING 2022
Edward Snowden, the controversial person who disclosed highly secret documents from the National Security Agency (NSA) in 2013 revealing various worldwide surveillance operations, and has previously appeared in the highly popular Joe Rogan Podcast (JRE), and agrees with Joe Rogan on Bitcoin in the crypto market today. Rogan has spoken at length about his Bitcoin views. Here Snowden gives his thoughts on Bitcoin, and cryptocurrency in the current market of 2022.
In this video he spoke extensively with the Filecoin Foundation during Camp Ethereal 2022. He talked on two intriguing topics: how governments perceive crypto as a growing danger and how crypto affects power dynamics. He explained how, from the standpoint of monitoring, the usage of the dollar is a public-to-private transaction. That is, once we use the dollar, it is recorded in a ledger, and the private (government) sector may view and utilize that data. But the difference with crypto, and why the government is so concerned about it, is that it now gives a public-to-public transaction, which means that we all have the same information and may use it anyway we see appropriate.
