Health care saw the largest job gains with 37,000 jobs added to the economy, followed by transportation and warehousing adding 30,000 jobs.
Meanwhile, industries like the federal government, finance, and information saw the biggest job losses.

I wonder how many of those warehouse and manufacturing jobs are related to the increase work due to tariffs.
My experience with 3 different companies and being in sales its more about the activities related to understanding the tariffs, collecting the tariff data, disseminating the data to internal and external folks, and then trying to collect the payments are a HUGE drain on companies. They are back filling lower level positions so that other people can work on tariff related activities. There are, of course, some localization activities and these are EXTREMELY time consuming and expensive as well. Again, a huge drain on companies.
As for actual localization that has happened, most of what ive seen is all talk, making plans, sharing costs and information, but not a whole lot of actual movement yet… 2027 is what most of the time lines ive seen are pointing to.
Of course, if tariffs go away, the snap back will be swift. These plans will die on the vine immediately… and if they dont, prices are going to continue rise and the people who do get hired will be fired just as quick as demand evaporates or never comes to fruition.
There’s a zero percent chance that trumps rosey scenario plays out.
