Yesterday I took a breakout trade on SPY that looked really clean at first Level had been tested multiple times, price pushed through with momentumm —

I entered a bit early expecting continuation.

Within a minute or two, momentum completely faded and it pulled back hard.

Ended up taking a small loss there.

What stood out wasn’t the loss itself but how quickle the move failed after looking so strong.

I’ve noticed similar behavior a few times this week:

    •breakouts don’t hold as long

    •follow-through feels weaker

•entries that used to work are getting punished faster

Because of that I’m trying to slow things down waiting for either a retest or clearer confirmation before entering.

Still figuring it out but conditions feel a bit different lately.

Curious how others are handling this —

are you still taking breakout entries or waiting more now?

I’ve been focused on not trading breakouts. Been focused on trading the other side of the range if I think it’s gonna go. If ya wanna trade the break, wait for the retest and go.
