I am not a native English speaker, so apologies for my English…

Due to an illness I am not capable of working full-time and the consequences are that I struggle with my monthly payments. Every day I try to NOT spend money on anything, but often I end up having bought things I actually don't need.

Recently I came across the movement of "doing nothing" ("niksen" in Dutch, I think this movement is of Dutch origin) and it is actually super healthy and you don't spend any penny doing it!

It isn't easy nowadays to do nothing. Reading, watching TV, scrolling on your phone doesn't count as doing nothing. You just sit on a chair and watch the clouds, maybe some birds, or your cats or whatever. Contrary to meditation you are allowed to think over things. It is super relaxing, creative and doesn't cost anything (besides the rent for your apartment and a cup of tea 🍵- but you have to pay for it anyway)

The most frugal hobby is – doing nothing

      I have a better idea.

Go for walks. It’s better for your health, it’s free, and you get to explore.

Maybe some low cost hobbies might be worth exploring too.  Even if it’s trying out new recipes that are within your budget.

    3. Yup we have lost the capacity to be still, to not be entertained. I think it’s super valuable to just do nothing. I used to set aside time to do nothing. It’s by doing this that you let your mind wander and be creative and maybe think about what you really want out of life.
