When the Federal government demands 10% ownership of a company in return for a bailout, and veto power over another company's foreign merger only in return for veto power over the merged company's major decisions — anyone who does not recognize that as socialism is blinded by the orange fool's fake tan glow.

I am very thankful that Spirit Airlines did not agree to a similar Trumpist takeover; had they done so, Don the Con definitely would have had his chubby diseased hands in the till. Considering Trump's war of choice on Iran and resulting skyrocketing jet fuel prices definitely put the final nail in Spirit's coffin, that would have been a decidedly corrupt look (even considering the source).

    1. America has the most expensive socialism program on the planet, its called the US Military. 1.5 trillion per year of tax payer dollars. Each tax payer is on the hook for $10,000 per year to cover that (1.5T/150m tax payers).

And where is that money going? Ask a soldier its not going to them or their health care, it seems to disappear into govt contracts that fail audit after audit.

God forbid, have these soldiers build roads and bridges and fix the country with that money, don’t send them to another desert to conquer more oil infrastructure so some oil ghoul can make a couple extra billion.

Yep. Populist conservative nationalism is really just “we want socialism for those who keep the party in power” regardless of how the general population is doing. Why do you think they like Russia and North Korea so much. China really confuses them though.

    3. Trumps form of government is a form of soft autocracy or soft authoritarianism. Its a system where democratic institutions still technically exist — elections are held, courts function, press operates, but they’re gradually weakened, pressured, or manipulated enough that they no longer function as genuine checks on power. The appearance of democracy without the full substance of it.
