I am very frustrated. I had to defer my payments due to unemployment and that expired on 5/5. I now have payments due again.
I used to pay around $230/mo. I tried to log in today to the federal student aid website, and saw that I’m now owing $880/mo. I got redirected to Mohela, where it now says it can’t even find my account to make a payment.
First of all, I can’t afford this. Second, how can they not find my account? I’m totaling just over $30k for what I owe in total. I’ve been bounced around service providers at least twice that I can remember.
I had qualified for the $20k in forgiveness under Biden but that got blocked days before it went into effect. I have credit cards, a car loan, all of it. I can’t pay this. I don’t want to pay this knowing where my money is going to. I’m trying not to lose my shit.
Is there anything I can even do? I never consented to an income driven plan or changed anything at all beyond having to defer payments.
Monthly payment went up to over $800

We can’t possibly say without knowing how much you and your income. Also see what the FSA site says about who has your loans..and while there .try their repayment calculator
