I am unclear on Total Discharge monitoring. In the link to studentaid dot gov, it says "Did you qualify for TPD discharge through SSA documents or a medical professional’s certification? If so, you’ll go through a three-year post-discharge monitoring period after your discharge."
I would be getting discharge through medical professional saying I am disabled. Does this mean that you cannot take out student loans during the following three years, or you cannot make any money working for the next three years?
I ask because I am disabled, but I do better some years than others. For example, the last 5 years I couldn't work at all. Prior to that, I could do some freelancing work, but never made more than $5,000 a year. Does anyone know if there is a cutoff for making money for three years? Can I get a job again years in the future after the 3-year period if I am doing better at that time? I never plan to go back to school.
Thank you in advance!

The monitoring period that checks if you work is no longer in effect.
