My mom has been disabled for a long time. Long before I started college. She was involved in a car accident which rendered her unable to work.
About 10 years ago, I was headed to college, and needed a loan. I was underage, so we took out a parent plus loan. We were concerned, but it was the only thing we could do so I could go to college. I graduated in the pandemic. Payments were held off for a bit, so my mom applied for loan forgiveness via disability. It was granted, and I am very grateful for it. I recognize I was very blessed with this outcome.
Fast forward to Sunday, she said she needed to talk to me. She wanted me to cosign on a loan after she consolidated some debts. I do not make a lot of money. I make more than my siblings, but not by much. I thought about it quite a bit, but the loan was too large, and it would seriously affect any and all of my future plans for a house, a car, or anything else. I don't have a lot in my savings. I said no, and she said she understood.
Today, she sent me a barrage of texts saying that due to my decision, she was considering going back to work. She also claimed the only reason she never went back was because of my loan. It was pardoned, but she's claiming that she'll go back to work and I'll have to pay the loan as it will be reinstated, which is obviously a lot.
Is this true? It's been six years since the pardon. This might be a manipulation tactic which is sadly common in my life, but I want to make sure I can plan for any situation. Thanks in advance.
My mom took out a Parent Plus Loan so I could go to school. It got pardoned since she is disabled. She's claiming that I'll have to pay it if she decides to go back to work after I denied cosigning a large loan. How true is this?

Being disabled is usually a one way assignment. Is she fully or temporarily disabled?
