I have had a capital one card for years. When I got it, they small cashback and online service was the best I could find. I have a checking account and credit card.

I assume other banks have gotten better at having a website/app. Capital One has annoyed me a few times and I am up to try a new card and checking account if anything is better.

Have had capital one for years, should I switch?

Out of the 5 or 6 biggest credit card companies, Capital One is my least favorite because their customer service seems like their hands are tied by strict corporate rules. Of course, experiences are going to vary, and I will say Capital One isn’t so bad that I wouldn’t consider them if they had a card that fit my needs.

Should you try other credit card companies? Absolutely. It’s good to have credit cards from multiple companies because if one company freezes your cards, you’ll have a backup. The safe best is any of the big companies like Amex, Chase, Citi, and Wells Fargo.
