Hi I’ve been doing research and want to start a Roth IRA and then maybe next year start putting money in my deferred compensation at work. They don’t match. I have a pension that matches though and I max the match. I’m almost 50 but don’t make a lot.
Do I just go online and start a Roth IRA through fidelity or something? I have only about $1000 to start it? Or do I need to find a reputable broker, is that what they’re called? There’s not any scammers right? Thank you

How do I start a Roth IRA?

    1. Choose between Fidelity, Schwab or Vanguard. Go to their site, create an account and open a Roth IRA. It is fairly straightforward. Once you open, you need to actually put money in and THEN actually invest it into something.
