Officially marks 1 month starting my micro account challenge.
3 years ago I deposited 3.5k in, blew it down to 300ish gambling earnings and thinking I knew how to trade. Let it sit until the 13th of April.
Fast forward to even starting this, I’ve spent roughly 2.5k since December on futures prop firm evals trying to learn the trading game, fail after fail after fail I would force myself to write down what I did wrong and what I can learn, digging so deep into my emotional self and psychology. Put in the work and clocked over 250 hours on backtesting my strategy over 4 years of data. I didn’t know why I kept failing after putting in so much effort but knew I needed to pivot but didn’t know how or what that meant.
Remembered my Robinhood account. Set rules for % risk, trading spy and qqq only (haven’t even touched qqq yet) and the rest is history. I haven’t traded futures since.
More or less posting this as a digital journal for myself because I finally feel some accomplishment (i have a long ways to go to the big M) and to hopefully inspire others to keep going if they are in a similar situation as I was.
