Just saw reports that Vladimir Smerkis — former head of Binance CIS and co-founder of Blum — was sentenced to 5 years in a general-regime prison colony in Russia over a fraud-related case connected to a crypto promo deal.
From what I understand, the case involved allegations around undelivered promotional traffic and disputes over crypto marketing services.
Pretty crazy story considering how recognizable he was in the CIS crypto space not that long ago.
