Just started my credit journey with a car loan in January. Only line I have. My credit score ranges around the 640s.
Have a decent paying job and carry no debt other than my 12 month $4000 car loan that I’m already half way through.
Will be traveling to Canada next month from the US want a credit card to protect myself. Main concern is international fees, looking for 0% but don’t know where to start.
I don’t wanna apply for a credit card and get denied and have that ding on my record. Any credit cards that offer 0% international feels where I could start with that offer like a soft check rather that hard pull?
All advice welcome. Thanks y’all

Capital One Platinum. No rewards, but also no fees, very accepting of beginners to revolving credit and people with lower scores, and Capital One has a pre-approval tool. Although Cap One’s cards are being affected by a transition to the Discover network, the Platinum is strangely untouched and still always issued as a Mastercard.
I think most of cards without international fees are premier cards, which means they typically requires higher credit score
